                                                                              Not getting married?

You may have come across this site while putting "Vintage Austin" in the search engine because you're interested in vintage, pre-war or classic vehicles. If that's the case, below is a little history on the cars and links for further information.

"Archie" Rare High Lot, Jones body landaulette 1934 Austin taxi was put into service in London in 1934 and came off the ranks in 1951. It was then bought by a gentleman for a tour of the continent. On his return to England Archie was acquired by the Austin  Museum on Long Island and shipped to the U.S.A. where he stayed on display for many years. The taxi then came  into  the  hands  of  a   wealthy   collector who stored  the taxi in the basement of his country home in Ohio.

A previous owner while waiting to ship the cab back to England was asked by his daughter to purchase as many "Archie" comics as possible, these were stored in the taxi's tool box. As she repeatedly asked when  "Archie" would be arriving....the taxi had received his name. He has remained in private hands ever since.

"Bertie" 1928 Austin 16/6 Burnham Saloon. An export model, rumoured to have spent his life in the channel islands. Was rescued from a breakers yard in Sussex and restored in the 1970's by a previous owner. During the 1980's he was used for weddings but retired during the 1990's and has recently been brought out of retirement to work alongside "Archie" for the Public Carriage Company.

"The Jaguar"
Originally owned by a Doctor in Scotland who clinically looked after  the vehicle. The second owner bought the car locally to Teddington where it underwent restoration. When it came into our hands it had only done 72 thousand miles.
